The Motorola MC80 is very good too - costs no more than 20ukp, provides a
cheap dedicated packet rig for 24/12 operation, as opposed to an expensive
black box which has to have it's packet capability turned off when used
for other modes. Very easily modded and tweaked for 9k6 and "rock solid"
frequency. Why spend a lot when you can get on 9k6 so easily & cheaply?
